OCU сleric says premarital sex is not a sin

An OCU cleric said that “our Orthodox Church never actually forbids people from doing anything.”

OCU “priest” Ruslan Usmedynskyi said that premarital sex, unlike adultery and masturbation, is not a sin. He made the statement on stand-up comedian Dmytro Tiutiun’s show Neseriozna Rozmova.

Asked by the comedian “why sex before marriage is a sin,” Usmedynskyi replied that it was not.

“It is not a sin,” the OCU cleric said, prompting an enthusiastic reaction from Tiutiun and the audience. “Our Orthodox Church never actually forbids people from doing anything. It does not forbid – it simply very strongly recommends abstaining.”

According to him, “sex life is the foundation of a family – it is what a family rests on.”

“As a man, I know that a man cannot live for long without sex and remain healthy. It harms his body. And a person cannot do anything that harms his body, because the Lord gave him that body. Roughly speaking, he has it on lease. And if the Lord made the body in such a way that it needs sex, then satisfying that need is normal,” the OCU cleric said, sharing his views. At the same time, he condemned adultery.

“When it crosses over into adultery – when it becomes excessive – then it is a sin,” he stressed.

The “priest” also said that masturbation is sinful.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that Usmedynskyi had “allowed” parishioners to use a priest’s cassock in sex games.
