During the gathering, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew once again thanked the Archbishop of Albania for his presence and participation throughout the celebrations held on Imbros.
Archbishop Ioannis had travelled to the island to participate in the events marking the 65th anniversary of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew’s entry into the holy clergy.
Later in the afternoon, Archbishop Ioannis departed Imbros with his entourage for Constantinople, from where he was scheduled to travel to Tirana.

Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and Archbishop Ioannis of Tirana, Durrës and All Albania attended the Divine Liturgy on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at the Metropolitan Church of the Dormition of the Theotokos on Imbros.
The Divine Liturgy was celebrated by Metropolitan Cyril of Imbros and Tenedos, while the two Primates attended prayerfully.
Following the service, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and Archbishop Ioannis, accompanied by Metropolitan Cyril, travelled to the mountainous village of Agridia.
At the village cemetery, the Ecumenical Patriarch celebrated a memorial service at the grave of the late Metropolitan Cyril of Moschonisia, who had previously served as Metropolitan of Imbros and Tenedos.
