The accusations of Archimandrite Nikanor

In late July 2026, Bulgarian Archimandrite Nikanor (Mishkov) published an offensive statement targeting the Primate of his own Church. He referred to Patriarch Daniil as: "Atanas Trendafilov, playing at being 'patriarch.'"
