16 baptized at North Carolina parish

More than a dozen more people were baptized into the Holy Orthodox Church at a quickly growing parish in North Carolina on Sunday.

“Yesterday we received sixteen newly-illumined into the church. What a joyful day! Glory to God for all things!” Holy Cross Orthodox Church (Orthodox Church in America) in Kernersville announced.

The parish, currently led by rector Fr. Christopher Foley, began with a handful of families in 2005 and now has 200 people regularly attending Liturgy. The parish’s own church building was consecrated in October 2024.

Holy Cross is one of many parishes experiencing enormous growth in recent years. OrthoChristian previously reported that 25 people were baptized there on Lazarus Saturday in April.
