“During these twelve years, the Lord has entrusted Your Beatitude with the care of His flock during extraordinarily difficult trials. Amid all these trials, Your unwavering ministry has been a witness to the undying hope that we find in Christ, who remains the Good Shepherd of His people

“We are convinced that his soul rejoices at seeing the Primates of the Churches meet in a spirit of brotherhood and unity,

“This collaborative effort has reignited my hope in ecumenism and in significant ways re-energized my own commitment to this important work

“Shared have been the struggles to defend Orthodox doctrine, shared the cup of affliction in difficult times, and shared the witness to the Resurrection to the ends of the earth.

“Working together has strengthened the partnership between NCCUSA and CCC and helped us to understand each other's cultures and history better, deepened the visible unity of churches across North America-Turtle Island, and resulted in lasting and meaningful relationships that will encourage future connections. It has been such an incredible learning and growth experience - one that I will always treasure

“The prayers of those who suffered for our dignity, our faith in Christ and our freedom will bring about the unity of the people.
